It feels more like early Spring than February here in Ukiah. We are having beautiful weather, but little or no rain, since December. Last weekend I took a bike ride on my road bike from Ukiah to Hopland. It was a great ride, with temperatures in the 70’s, blue sky, and the Buckeye trees starting to leaf out. They are the first trees in our area to leaf out, and the first to lose their leaves in the late Summer.
Our local real estate market slowed down quite a bit in June of last year, then seemed to pick up in July, and slow down quite a bit in August. Since then we have seen little or no appreciation, and what I would describe as a flat market. I have noticed that things seem to be picking up in January, with a number of new properties coming on the market, and a number of new sales. It’s good to see the increase in activity, and encouraging for my clients and customers.
For those of you who enjoy live theater, the Diary of Anne Frank is being performed at the Ukiah Players Theater from February 19th through March 15th. If you haven’t been to see any of the productions the theater puts on, you are missing a very enjoyable experience. I’m always amazed at the number of talented folks who reside in this small community. If you would like to support the theater financially, it is easy to become a Guild Member, by making an annual donation of $250.00. This allows you to see a special performance of each play, along with hors d’ oeuvres provided before the performance. You can also bring friends to the performance. These evenings are also a very nice social gathering.
Please let me know if I can help with any of your real estate needs.
